Picture cards of words that begin with long and short vowels for teaching the beginning sounds A, E, I, O, U.
Description
Here are two sets of picture cards for teaching vowel sounds. One set for teaching words that begin with long a, e, i, o, u and a separate set for their short vowel sound counterparts. Each set includes lowercase letter cards, plus 4 picture cards of words beginning with that vowel sound.
I’ve tried to select nouns as much as possible, but there really isn’t the greatest selection of kindergarten-friendly vocabulary starting with vowels. A verb, an adjective and a couple prepositions seem to have crept in.
You can download images only flashcards or image cards with labels in small, medium, or large size sets.
The two vowel sets have different border colours for easy sorting.
Please note: The pictures in these two sets come from from a few different royalty-free and licensed sources, so the image styles vary quite a bit.
