The Winter Olympic Sports Worksheets contain activities for learning and practising the words for sports played at the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 30 target vocabulary words used in these worksheets correspond to the Winter Olympics Flashcards Set which is also available for free!

The word scramble, labelling, matching and match 3 worksheets are suitable for studying vocabulary either as solo activities or pair work. The sorting worksheets and surveys are intended to prompt conversation activities.

1 WORD SCRAMBLE:

All 21 sports, both Olympic and Paralympic, are scrambled up on one page.

5 LABELLING WORKSHEETS:

All labelling worksheets have a grid of pictures and a box of target words to use for labelling.

• Worksheet 2  – 9 Olympic sports
• Worksheet 3 – 6 Olympic sports
• Worksheet 4 – all 6 Paralympic sports
• Worksheet 5 – 16 sports (1 Paralympic & 15 Olympic)

3 MATCHING WORKSHEETS:

The matching worksheets have two columns: one of images and one of words. Students read and connect, no spelling involved.

• Worksheet 1 – all 6 Paralympic sports
• Worksheet 2 – 8 Olympic sports
• Worksheet 3 – 7 Olympic sports

3 “MATCH 3” WORKSHEETS:

These worksheets ask students to connect the name of the sport to its picture. Then, to complete the sentence, connect to a very short description of the sport.

• Worksheets 1 – 3 – Each worksheet has 5 sports (Olympic Games only).

2 SORTING WORKSHEETS:

On each sorting worksheet there is a grid of labelled pictures of sports. Students list a few sports for each column based on their own opinions.

• Worksheet 1: I like watching / I don’t like watching… + all 21 Olympic and Paralympic sports
• Worksheet 2 … looks fun / … looks boring / …looks scary + 15 Olympic sports

11 SURVEYS:

All the surveys have 5 sports per page and room to interview three separate classmates. There is a little space to jot brief notes as well, level permitting.
