Description
The Seasons and Weather Worksheet Set has fun and simple writing, spelling and speaking activities for learners as young as kindergarten age. These worksheets practice 12 of the 18 words from the Seasons and Weather Flashcards Set using the same cute images of trees and sky to depict the four North American seasons, as well as a basic set of adjectives to describe weather.
The vocabulary in the worksheets is grouped as follows:
Seasons and Weather Vocabulary Groups:
Group 1:
rainy, sunny, windy, snowy
Group 2:
hot, cold, stormy, cloudy
Group 3:
spring, summer, autumn, winter
Some worksheets have only four vocabulary words on the page, making them suitable for young learners just beginning to read and write in English. Some worksheets contain the eight descriptive weather words only, leaving off the seasons, if you’re just working on answers to “How’s the weather today?”
A few of the worksheets contain all 12 vocabulary words, making them suitable for students who are comfortable with reading more text on the page. You could even try pushing your class to be more specific by combining seasons and weather together and making sentences such as: “I like sunny winter days“, “I don’t like stormy summer days“.
Have fun!
18 Seasons and Weather Worksheets:
5 Labelling Worksheets – Worksheets #1-3 have only four words per page and a super large font. The other two have 8 and 12 words, respectively.
5 Matching Worksheets – Worksheets #1-3 have the same four words per page as the Labelling sheets. The other two have 6 and 12 words each.
2 Sorting Worksheets – Both activities ask students to sort the words using the following sentence pattern: “I like… days” and “I don’t like… days”. Worksheet #2 adds the seasons, which allows you to build longer sentences.
4 Yes/No Surveys – All four surveys practice “Do you like… ?” questions with either four or six words per page. Students with more language ability can push the conversation a little further– there is space to jot short notes.
2 Word Scrambles – Puzzle #1 has eight words. Puzzle #2 adds the seasons
