12 flashcards each showing 4 objects of the same colour.

Description

This set of 12 cards teaches the same colour words as Colours Flashcards Set A. However, with these cards you can teach colour + noun sentence patterns.

Since most of the vocabulary is simple, you don’t have to pre-teach all the nouns in the pictures. Just let the students practice the vocabulary they already know.

In mixed level classes, higher level students can choose the more difficult words like football, spider, or pajamas. In lower level classes, you can skip these words altogether and work only with the easier objects like dress, dog, cat, car, etc.

Regional Spellings

PLEASE NOTE:

Two spelling variations appear in this set:

  • colour / color
  • grey / gray

The preferred spellings in American English are: color, gray.

The British English ‘colour’ and ‘grey’ are the preferred spellings in Canada as well. Both gray and grey are acceptable spellings in Canada, but color is not.

A List of Nouns for Each Colour

The set does not include word cards for the objects.

    These are fantastic! Thank you!
Could you remove the floppy disc and put something else there, please? Nobody uses floppy discs any more 🙂 Also – what is the name of the brown instrument? And what is the “red” man’s job? Who’s he? The yellow road sign seems to be too difficult for children as well.
You’re doing great job with those flashcards. Children love them!

Thanks for writing. Yes, I agree this set is ready for an update. I am hoping to have a chance to redo some flashcard sets before the end of the year, and this one is now on the list!

      – The brown thing does look like an instrument, but I would just teach “wood”.
      – The man in the long, red jacket I think is a simplified firefighter, but I would just teach “raincoat” or red coat / red hat.
      – I would just teach “yellow sign” for the road sign, not ‘merge’ or anything 😀

Anyway, it’s been a very long time since we first searched and assembled these sets so yes, I do believe it’s time for floppy disc to go 😀

To learn colours with a lot of vocabulary (included in the flashcards) is easier. Students can remember and relate the words.
