Stop drawing the time and start teaching it! This set of time flashcards includes a picture of an analog clock for every 15 minutes of the day: 1:00, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45…
Using Time Flashcards for Time Dictation
Using the empty clock in the set, try time dictation. It’s a great listening activity!
Print out one large blank clock card for each student.
Give everyone two clock hand markers such as popsicle sticks or pencils (one long, one short).
Shuffle the time flashcards. Pull one card and read out the time.
Let the students’set their clocks to match.
Show the class your card. Let the students check their answers.
When the students feel comfortable with the activity, let the students have a chance to read out the time. Distribute the small time flashcards face down on the students desks. Continue the dictation as a class and/or in pairs or small groups.
